AUSTIN, Texas (KBTX) - A statewide ban on hemp-derived THC products could soon become law in Texas, leaving retailers and employees across the state and the Brazos Valley bracing for layoffs and shutdowns.

Thats not an unintended consequence. They are punishing what they consider the ‘left’ even though THC/CBD/Delta access is mostly bipartisan

Texans consider themselves the freest in the country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

      You obviously don’t live here.

The only Texas residents that consider themselves “freest” are the rural county MAGAt fucks getting what they’ve long hoped for from our miserable attempt at a state gov’t.

MAGAts are not the majority population in TX. However, they are the most voting engaged. That and voter suppression of anything non-MAGAt is how the MAGAts keep winning the “elections”.

What’s extra stupid about this law is that it doesn’t just ban THC. It bans all cannabinoids other than cbd and cbg. Who choose those? Cbn, cbc, thcv, and everything else will not be processed, sold, studied in Texas.

If the kids they are so worried about need food or housing or education though, they can kick rocks. But they are NOT going to get any THC. No way. (Not that I think that’s actually happening in reality). That said, if Abbott gets the bribe he is angling for, I’m sure this bill will get vetoed. Now excuse me, I have to go purchase some guns for my children to go squirrel hunting with.

Abbott intervened to keep decriminalized pot off of the Republican Platform back in 2018. The state Party wanted to go for decriminalization and he is 100% against it. Abbott is a christofascist and this is what he wants

What makes you believe Hot Wheels is looking for a bribe on this particular issue…??

This is a simple “pandering to the base” “think of the children” “drugs are a criminal scourge” issue…

It’s red meat for the base. This is getting signed. 🤷‍♂️

The consequences are not unintended. It removes the products from the state and makes it so that retailers can’t sell those products which are or contain drugs. That’s the intent.
