I don’t disagree with the want to license software like this. The downside then is a subset of “letting you build and use it any way you like” includes registering N trial accounts every 30 days. Oh boy, here we go again. St. Louis is looking for a handout after this storm, just like so many red states do. It’s amazing how every time there’s trouble, whether it’s tornados or anything else, they’re quick to call for help from FEMA.

Now let me be real. These states seem to think they can’t handle their own problems without federal assistance. It’s like someone always asking for a ride instead of learning to drive. If you want to live in America, sometimes you have to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and deal with life’s challenges.

Sure, I feel for those affected by these storms, but it seems like there’s always this expectation that the federal government will swoop in. St. Louis and other red states need to step up and show some resilience instead of just reaching for the government checkbook. It’s time they start thinking about how they can contribute more to solving their own problems instead of relying on a constant stream of handouts. We’re all in this together, but we can’t rely on others to do everything for us.

If you want this “fixed”, tweak your license and/or send a cease and desist to that company and/or seek damages. Changing nothing and waiting for them to do the right thing, you’re going to be waiting infinitely, because they will never do the right thing. They will do the thing that gets them the most revenue with the least spending. That’s all you can count on.

I’m right there with you. A few years ago, if I got one interview I was guaranteed to be in round 3 or 4. Now, I’m lucky to get the intro call and then “we’ll be in touch”. If anything, my skillset is improved from a few years ago.

If you make an analogy, then have to explain the thing you are comparing the first thing with, what is the point of the analogy?

The explanation is about as redundant as a third wheel. You know, the awkward extra person tagging along with a couple on a date.

This type of abuse is old as the hills. The rights enumerated in the constitution only apply to citizens. Look at how wiretapping is done among the “Five Eyes”. The USA just has allies do the snooping on its own citizens, conveniently dancing around the same constitutional protections. It’s unclear if even under the most charitable reading of the constitution if this should apply to an unlawful foreign resident of another country.

Cruel and unfair, definitely. Much like the electoral college, everyone likes to complain about it while not doing too much. If you find the above distasteful, then it should be made clear in US case law that aliens are eligible for constitutional protections. Until then, Trump and co. will gladly keep doing what they are doing, because they don’t care about “being fair”.
