Those projects contribute the bulk of funds for the development of fzf.
It’s normal to credit them and I’ve seen that done on multiple open source projects.

Want an even bigger game changer? fzf combined with control-r.
Enjoy.
It’s interesting there’s still resistance against systemd in 2025. It’s running just fantastically in many distros. I don’t get the hate against it.
That was just one reason I gave. I personally do not like android, and my past experience with a pixel phone did not go well.
I want a phone that’s usable without having to worry about custom roms and Google locking down side loading of apps in the future. There was enough outrage that they gave up on their recent attempt, but we all know that’s not permanent.
My personal preference would be for a Linux phone that works and does so well. That doesn’t exist yet.
Switching phones isn’t necessarily easy or doable for everyone. I’ve got my device already, I appreciate this new app since it’s usable without me spending more money or changing everything about my mobile device.

What does politics have to do with an operating system? How are republicans annd MAGA immune from your statement? It’s best to leave politics out of it.

Local residents in cities with data centers are dealing with higher electricity costs. Those costs get passed on from the corps to the local residents. On top of that they’re dealing with water scarcity and pollution.

You’re wrong about the games part. Most of us have no issues with that because of proton. As long as the game doesn’t require kernel level anti-cheat malware.
And yeah, 3D program written for windows is not going to run on Linux natively without issues. That’s common sense. It’s up to the developers to support more platforms, and that will happen with market share.
My company’s policy is 90 miles. I know people who have to drive 1.5 hours to work each way.
You may not like tap to pay or CarPlay but I and a lot of others do.
It’s a deal breaker for me to not have these two features in a product I’d like to spend hard earned money on.
Fedora image writer. Thank me later.

I failed at convincing anyone at every company I’ve worked with. Getting a MacBook is the only alternative for me.

Your sound card would probably work without issue. Don’t rely on the manufacturers website about drivers when it comes to that.
For gamepass, you have to either give that up, play on Xbox, or stay with windows. That’s something that Microsoft’s will never support on Linux.

Makes sense.
I wanted to try the Affinity suite but found it doesn’t work on Linux. I also tried running it via wine but had massive issues. I’d gladly pay if they release it for Linux. Until then, I’ll use free alternatives.

Just curious, which software do you have to run on windows? I used to think alternatives for photography weren’t good enough but I changed my mind recently. Alternatives exist, but just like switching from windows, it requires the willingness to relearn how to do things I was used to in adobe lightroom and photoshop.
I’ll give a contrasting opinion.
I’ve used both Fedora and Manjaro extensively, and I prefer Manjaro.
The reason is that I prefer the package management of Arch more than fedora. I’ve had no issues finding what I need through the official arch repositories and the AUR (secondary choice).
Manjaro is a bleeding edge distro so keep that in mind. Personally, I’ve had no problems in the last year of running it.
I have nightmares of ndiswrapper and Broadcom chipsets. Struggled for ages to try and make that work when I was running Suse Linux. :shudder:
I have a Synology NAS (from 3 years ago). My photos are synced from my iPhone via the Synology photos application and can be accessed from my Linux desktop via nfs.
I found alternatives for almost everything except Apple Music. I just connect my phone via Bluetooth nowadays to play music at a higher bitrate than what Apple allows via browser. Wish they would build an official client.
Ok. Let’s go with it being ads. It’s a free open source project that’s absolutely worth using. Are you going to crucify them for it? Wanna donate for its development?
