It is weirder to me that people back shit like this up. I have zero desire to keep a backup of chat and random images people have sent me.

I transited through LA once on my way to Canada over 10 years ago now. That 5 hour experience alone was enough to make me say I don’t ever want to even fly through this shit hole again, let alone leave the airport and visit the country as a whole.

I can only imagine how much worse it is now with all this vile bullshit going on.

I mean I disagree. A gouge would be a big chuck taken out, a scratch would be a more surface level line where as a scuff would be a patch of surface level damage. I doubt I would ever use scuff in terms of a tyre either.

That is the wonders of language though, everyone uses it differently :D

I haven’t look at it in a while as I was pissed off that it went down the way it did. Although I personally didn’t contact indiegogo many people from the backers within the comments did so and indiegogo refused to do anything about it. So they are complicit in this theft too so by extension I wouldn’t advise anyone to use their “service” either.

I did have a look at the campaign because of this comment and nothing has changed, lots of people still complaining about planet computers and indiegogo so it doesnt look like anyone got anywhere in terms of getting their money back.

Do NOT give these fucking cunts any fucking money. I was a backer for this phone on indiegogo.

They are liars when they eventually did communicate any updates during the project. They produced around 2000 units, most of which were sent to people who backed the project years after the first backers on indiegogo because they backed on a different platform.

Ultimately they just shut down the kickstarter giving no actual details. They stole thousands of peoples money through that. They made a product with the money people contributed to back the project and then just shuttered the project so they wouldn’t need to deliver a device to these backers.

I didn’t realise they were now trying to sell them again but the units that did get shipped were massively out of date and barely worked as it is.

If you want a keyboard on a phone Unihertz are about your only option right now.

Firstly the article is a year and a half old but although you can still use PayPal on eBay to say it is heavily integrated is bullshit. EBay started moving away from PayPal years ago and at this point have integrated their own systems linking to your bank account to take the place of what they used to use PayPal for.

Except for the fact that it is designed to keep you coming back and hopefully paying them for the privaledge whilst making people believe they are learning something useful.

It is in fact counter productive to actually learning a language properly. I used it for a year and a half trying to learn Spanish and in that time I never really learnt anything of worth. On top of that my native Spanish speaking girlfriend told me on numerous occasions that the things it was “teaching” me were flat out incorrect.

I learnt more useful language skills in a month on Busuu than I did in a year and a half using Duolingo. So yes there is a lot of hate because it wasted a lot of my time for absolutely zero benefit and in some cases taught me the wrong things so I had to go back and “unlearn” all the bullshit it constantly pushed to me.

It isn’t a tool to bridge a gap, it is a word game designed to get you addicted to “streaks” and then hopefully remove money from your wallet under the guise of teaching you something.

People that seriously want to learn a language should be dissuaded from using this trash app as it is only counter productive to the learning process, they should instead check out Busuu or listen to Language Transfer which is free and vastly superior!

No one is learning any language using shitty Duolingo all they are learning is how to parrot useless phrases and vocab with no explanation on how to form sentences or actually use the language properly for themselves.
