Don’t expose jellyfin to the internet and it won’t be hacked. But you are forced to make a Plex account, if you want to use Plex.

Late stage capitalism of course

I’ve started using AI on my CTOs request. ChaptGPT business licence. My experience so far: it gives me working results really quick, but the devil lies in the details. It takes so much time fine tuning, debugging and refactoring, that I’m not really faster. The code works, but I would have never implemented it that way, if I had done it myself.
Looking forward for the hype dying, so I can pick up real software engineering again.

Good thing is, you don’t need to use it. Bad thing is, it affects reality.

I don’t get it. AI is a tool. My CEO didn’t care about what tools I use, as long as I got the job done. Why do they suddenly think they have to force us to use a certain tool to get the job done? They are clueless, yet they think they know what we need.

What’s up with the cool startup names recently? First Palantir the fortune teller ball, now Helsing the vampire hunter? Fuck yeah, who doesn’t invest in these? /s

Revolt?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no silicone at all in microprocessors but silicon.

I was small phone enjoyer until my Sony Z3 Compact. I really liked it, but after it died, I tried bigger phones and I couldn’t go back.

Instructions unclear, fired 50% of people

I still use 1337 sometimes, for joke names like 1337h4xX0r, or I use 1337 where others would use 42 or 69, but it’s always that nobody gets it. How could past internet culture vanish like that?

All my phones have always been on DnD, I don’t even know how my ringtone sounds.

Is this some copypasta? :D

Except you won’t, because you are already coping on Lemmy
Good, I don’t need the mass. Social media is cancer anyways.
My company is going to license ChatGPT and wants us to use it for work (I’m a software engineer).
I can’t believe they are paying money for a useless AI which outputs stolen data.

There is a huge difference between a “programmer” who just codes, and a software engineer, who studied computer science and learned the skills for problem solving as an engineer. The latter is protected in many countries.
You can use Jellyfin with wireguard and still have what Plex does. Unless you want to run an open streaming service (which would probably be illegal in most countries anyway).
90% of Plex users probably don’t need what Plex does and would be happy with Jellyfin.
