Surely if you want to kill disabled people, it’s a good idea to start by making them feel shunned and their lives extremely difficult first, no?

Okay, so long as a passkey is something I can memorise. Otherwise, it’s significantly worse than a regular password (assuming you use good passwords and don’t reuse passwords etc).

It seems like they want to tie it to a physical computer (like the one in your pocket), which sucks big time. What happens if I don’t have access to that computer at all times, or it breaks, or is lost?

I’m planning on getting rid of my smartphone for something that just does calls and texts for example, because I’m sick of how unhealthily reliant I, and everyone, have become on this thing, and I want to be more connected to the real world. What then?

My brain is the best place to store passkeys, it can’t be hacked, stolen, lost, etc, unlike every other option. It’s easily capable of storing lots of randomised unique passwords for each service (surely I’m not the only one that can do this?). It’s the clear winner.

Though that said we end up with a lot of nuance in the real world. Let’s say there’s a traditionally marginalised, opposed racial group. Let’s say times have changed somewhat and people suddenly accept them.

Well, the generational and cultural weight is still going to have a lasting effect even if times have changed, and it may be more difficult for people from that group to afford a good education, good job, good home, etc.

The point being that even if we all stopped being racist today and hired purely based on how good an employee someone will be, we’re likely still unknowingly skewing our decisions based on past social racial issues.

I’m probably not putting it very well but hopefully you get the idea! It’s probably pretty common knowledge anyway I guess haha, seems pretty obvious to me and I don’t even think about this stuff much :-)

Anyway, point is, we do still need to work as a society on ensuring diversity and fairness even when we’re not racist at all - I think the saying might be “Equity over Equality”, or such?

Obviously the USA Government are fascists, so they’re more interested in wiping out groups they don’t like, but they’re just another in a long line of evil governments that will eventually fall, no point thinking too deeply about why they’re being evil. They’ll eventually die off as all fascist regimes do. Hopefully we won’t have to fight a World War against them this time.

I’m the author of my video content, not YouTube.

I carefully produce and render it, carefully ensuring it meets the quality level I require, and then I upload it.

I assume YouTube will transcode it, sure, but I assume they have expert engineers who have tailored the transcoding system to maintain the highest possible video quality whilst hitting whatever their filesize goals are.

At no point should AI be applied to alter the content of my video in any way, especially without my consent. That’s ridiculous.

To be fair, this is 2025, there’s no trustworthy data about anything any more.

Hell, you might just be an AI. Or I might just be an AI. Or maybe there wasn’t even an outage. I didn’t notice any issues, so maybe AI hallucinated it, or it’s been made up as clickbait and been second-hand reported by thousands of news sites that don’t care about fact checking any more.

Not that there are facts any more, anyway.

How are Microsoft ensuring these sensitive documents are not being transferred via or stored on servers located in hostile countries with lax data laws (such as foreign nations like the USA?).

Is there a way to limit it to news from Europe, or at least stop it heavily leaning into American stuff?

I took a peek but it’s too often USA this and USA that, and I’m a little sick of hearing about that country in general these days, haha.

It’s weird that I never get any of that sort of guff, same with YouTube suggestions, they’re always at minimum decent quality things I might be interested in.

I’ve never been recommended a Mister Beast video, for example, or any of that rubbish.

Not that I want to just lean on Google services or anything, it’s just really weird that the algorithm works so well for me and so poorly for other people. I really wish I knew why!
