Thank you! That’s really helpful for the plans I have :)

May I ask what are the specs and size of those Thinkcentres? I have one I’m using as a server and planning to upgrade the CPU because it has a dual core one, and someone offered me the same one I have, but it’s pretty big. I’d prefer to use the tiny models when I can buy some :D

Same here in México, a lot of people think their dual core Intel from 2011 (and even older than that) is still worth more than +$100USD. Even worse, companies usually want to resell devices to recover some of the cost, so even that option is kind of expensive. I’m waiting for some friends that can buy company devices for cheap so they can resell them to me for cheap too lol
Hey, I also sway my foot while using the terminal!

Thanks for pointing that out. I think some are also supported in KWin:)

I don’t know if it’s been updated recently, but take into account that LXQT doesn’t support global shortcuts yet ☝️
It works well, but it’s still missing features; as they say: it’s experimental right now.

I’m glad there’s a printer service close to where I live, I can go there and print every page for cents. There’s also one on my faculty, more expensive, but still affordable. I only use my HP printer/scanner to scan documents, ink is expensive as hell.

Too many times I’ve been at the very limit of failing to deliver an assignment. I used to have classes from morning to night (used to get home at 23:00) and sometimes I did homework at uni and scan/upload in my computer since camera-scanned documents don’t look as good, so I had to deliver them ASAP, but Windows would take a LOT of time to load Teams and sometimes it started applying updates at startup, so it would be SLOW AS HELL.
Just some days ago it happened again (the homework was assigned a day before) so I booted up windows and what a surprise (/s) it started applying updates, so Teams wouldn’t even open. I had to send the files from there to my linux computer (I love you, KDE connect!) because I still had to add some things to the document and Teams for Linux loaded in a second lol
That would be wonderful! I got the opportunity to try Linux when I was like 5 (didn’t know it was Linux) and even though I was already very interested in computers, I didn’t know I was using Linux nor how capable it was.
It took time until I had my own laptop and could start learning new things, and only knowing about Linux from afar since I wasn’t able to install it myself and didn’t have any adults that could teach me, but you could be that person to this kid (if they’re interested in the future ofc)!

Will do, thanks!. Have you used something like Docker Compose? I didn’t have a lot of time before, but I’m still researching and I don’t get what is the “standardized” way of dealing with composed containers

Hey, may I ask how has it been MicroOS for you? I’m interested in using it for my small server and self-hosting, but I mostly use containers with Docker and I’ve seen that MicroOS comes with Podman by default.
I mean, Mexico has never been a beacon of privacy or regulations (just for super specific technologies that were implemented first, mostly banking ones), but the government has also been pushing weird changes to how they handle surveillance and personal identifications, giving more power to the authorities while they’re exempt for most of the transparency laws (everything they do, even public infrastructure is managed as some kind of ‘state secret’).
I am scared.
