i have a locked-down android tv dongle from my isp so i really wish i could cast from my jellyfin server, but then i looked at the setup guide and instantly ran out of spoons.

i’ve flipped between sony and lg for my past three phones (which is a period of 14 years at this point), and been forced to use samsung stuff for work. the main difference i’ve found is that not only is samsung hard to switch from due to their walled garden stuff, they’re hard to switch to.
personally my experience with anything samsung is that it’s locked down to hell so i don’t know how useful dex actually is. the idea is neat though, wish someone else did it.
well that is part of the user experience. the main thing that annoys me though is that the ui tends to go one of two ways for these devices; either it’s super-custom to the point that all application developers have to do extra work to be usable on it, or there’s too little customisation, which again means apps are not properly usable without extra work. i’ve not seen a folding device that “just works” yet.
it is a very cool technical achievement, but the user experience leaves a lot to be desired with them. most people don’t think about comparing. which is the only way i can imagine samsung getting as big as they have.
I started using aeon, which comes with a specially-configured snapper integrated with systemd and the package manager, a while ago. it’s so nice to have a system that does automatic updates, has automatic rollback, and cannot be broken by using it like a normal user.
it’s not completely stable yet, but what’s there is really cool. heads up if you want to try it that it’s made to be the only os on your machine and so will wipe all partitions on the drive you install it on.

Frontier: Elite 2 and Frontier: First Encounters still has the best planetary scale of any sci-fi space ship sim with interplanetary travel. Flight of Nova does it better but that’s only one planet. Frontier has like four billion.

i adore this web design

yeah but nobody wanted google glass after it was release.
they’ve never talked about him at all except in the aftermath of the shooting.
i never said he was destitute or self-taught. you need skills to be an os dev. the first few paragraphs there is what i based my post on.

most crts i’ve ever used were 75Hz or more
there’s no way for me to answer that
i’m not talking about american pundits.
the media here has never shown any kirk debate, and has only talked about him as a “american right-wing debater/influencer”. personally i was aware of him only as that too, and only saw how heinous his opinions actually were when i googled him after the event. and i, along with most other swedes, have a fairly high regard for our public broadcasting institutions, and since most american internal squabbles don’t influence us until they become external, we don’t really care to dig deeper. i did because i’m active here, but kling probably didn’t.
the guy is an ex-drug abuser. he started doing serenityos as therapy, and serenityos needed a browser. until you get to the modern stuff, it’s basically just a paint-by-numbers api implementation on top of his existing code base.
right, by saying “nobody deserves to die for their opinions”, which is what most tv pundits are saying.
so i’ve talked about that event at length before and i don’t have the time to dig up my old comments right now but the short version is
i will continue to say that kling is just a pretty offline guy, and also very much unaware/uninterested in america. most people around me are saying the same things about the kirk shooting and i would not consider them even close to what americans would probably call “centrists”, but here is called “right-wingers”. people here had just never heard of him or any of his opinions before last week.
kilng strikes me as a man who has never had politics happen to him before he started working in open source, and he is being treated like he shares american values and american cultural knowledge just because he speaks english online.
i don’t agree with his stances at all, but it’s the norm where he and i live. “åsiktskorridoren” was a political punching bag for a reason.
i don’t want to use more than one remote
