Just straight up a violation of the 4th Amendment, and if there are any legal repercussions for the content of your accounts, depending on the nature content and the consequences of it, could be violations of the 1st and 5th amendments. These constitutional rights cover every single man woman and child on US soil, even visitors. There is no way any of this is legal.

There can be good reason to offer different prices to different people. New customer discounts, student/senior discounts, etc. The problems arise when the nature of the reason they got a discount, or even the very fact that they did get a discount are hidden. Because then there’s nothing stopping them from more predatory pricing just because they think they can get you to pay more, or whatever other reason they have. It’s not illegal, but it’s incredibly unethical and really should be illegal.

And even if he did agree to it, 100k is not a massive amount of money in NYC, and the city council getting a 16% raise for the first time in 10 years after record breaking inflation isn’t crazy either. I mean there’s defintely a high amount of generic spoiled rich kid self-important indoctrination in the foundation bricks of his identity. But he’s also a classic clinical narcissist. He can never acknowledge the flaws, for sure. But he copes with them still. He compulsively deflects any criticism, accusation, or insults onto others. He pathologically boasts about anything and everything with absurd distortions and lies. And he surrounds himself with opportunists who will kiss ass for a bit of his power and influence as well as genuine sycophants, not just to have a legion of yesmen, but also to be flanked on all sides by people propping his ego against the very justified and real hatred of him from the entire world.

If he weren’t so insecure, he wouldn’t be throwing insults at people. They’re a direct compulsive reaction to someone making him have to see a flaw in himself. And his favorite insults just so happen to be things that he’s demonstrated himself. Ugliness, fatness, being unintelligent, nastiness, etc. He is incapable of seeing and of accepting those flaws, so it’s not like he consciously thinks he’s fat, ugly, or whatever, because he can’t. But those are the things that hurt him most subconsciously, so he uses them on others.

Every insult applies to him so completely that it really just seems like a textbook self defense mechanism, make fun of others for the things you’re insecure about so they can’t do the same to you.

Let’s also not forget that the biggest obstacle for first time homebuyers is not the monthly payments (which are typically similar to or even lower than their current rent rates, but with the added benefit of building equity) but to saving for the down payment while paying that rent. A 50 year mortgage only serves to prop up already inflated home prices, not to decrease them, meaning it does nothing at all to help someone actually become a home owner in the first place.
