I'm Hiding 🇦🇺

I used to think so too, but my pi-hole just died the other week after four years of uptime. Couldn’t work it out, finally pulled the SD card out to reinstall the OS and found my laptop wouldn’t recognise it.

Made me glad I don’t run my mailserver on a Pi anymore!

The only Windows PC I use is my work computer.

GPO blocked WSL.

I can’t even escape to a command line with the right flavour of slashes between directories. For eight hours a day, all hope is lost.

I model all of my UI choices off of old(er) school windows

Same lol. The casual observer wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Windows XP and my Debian install, bar for the fact that I have a search bar in the start menu.

I use Xournal++, too. Note that the original Xournal is no longer maintained, but Xournal++ is.

It’s supposed to be a clone of Windows Journal - the precursor to OneNote. It’s very good at exporting to and annotating PDFs, and I use it for all my classwork. Windows Journal worked great for me back in the day, and Xournal++ continues to do so today.

All that said, I’m saving this post so I can try out some of the alternatives listed here in the future.
