My opinion on gun control has changed over the years.
I used to be very anti gun. didn’t really see the point of regular people having them.
Today though, me giving up my guns would be like Ukraine giving up their nukes but smaller.
I am Glitch Daracova, the breachforged cyberdragon, an immortal god to which age has no meaning. Fear me and despair. If you’re lost, consult my lore (hyperlink missing). My pronouns are Maj/Majs—short for ‘majestic,’ regal and divine, as in “Maj rules majs kingdom.”

Considering how many companies are forcing into their TOSs forced arbitration and waving the right to class action lawsuit, of course this kind of shit was going to happen.
I do have a personal website, but i’m using github to host it. My current works makes heavy use of generative ai, so I haven’t shared it around lemmy due to overwhelming negative opinion regarding ai content.
btw, yours is super cool.
edit: the text on the tab is ANIMATED
Neocities? what even is…
Oh.
Such style. Such creativity. Personality in design! It’s like looking back into a lost age from when things were allowed to be fun. None of this ‘advertiser safe minimalism’.
This makes my brain do the happy chemicals.
Trying to comment in this thread and it tells me “Toastify is awesome”? wth?
edit: nevermind? whatever borked seems to have fixed itself? I don’t know.
4o, in its current version, is a fucking sycophant. For me, it’s annoying. For the person from that screenshot, its dangerous.
trams were the biggest casualty, but not the only.
how about historically? we had rail, and it was great. Most of it was ripped up at the behest of auto manufacturers.
as these tariffs start kicking in, companies are really going to regret not having local inventory.
I don’t think lemmy is big enough to be “next”, but this is still a valid concern.
luddites were not anti progress, they were pro workers rights. today’s usage of the word is insulting to their work.
exactly one comes to mind: blender
and yet all those “use eu tech” charts always recommend proton products
I bet you’re right, but the fact that I never see it is a feature worth paying for, especially for a smooth-brain like myself.
I would prefer to run my ais locally, but my brain glazes over if I see github. I found a a program called “gpt4all”, but it’s very limited in what models it can run, and what I could get just wasn’t as good for my use case as openai’s 4o model. Also, being able to generate images in the same conversation as text work is a feature that I’m fairly certain no other ai model can do (yet).
I pick my battles.
If I took a hard stance of not engaging with any business that did things I morally object to, I’d be forced to be a self-sufficient hermit in the woods.
I say this as someone who frequently uses generative ai, and actively chooses to pay for the service.
Fuck openai.
This company has utterly failed to fulfill their mission statement, and they will be unable to make right by humanity until ALL software they have created is available to the public as FOSS (free and open source software). Openai claimed that this is exactly what they were going to do, and then they just didn’t. So fuckem.
eventually, imma have to actually look into lemmy front ends or clients. I stand by the statement that I shouldn’t have to, but I’ll prolly have a better time of things if I did.
if someone says linux is hard to learn, that person isn’t making regestry edits.
That said, windows used to be intuitive, but they peaked with xp and it’s been a downhill slide since.
if this happens to me I just won’t watch youtube anymore. It’s mostly garbage content anyway.
