The food industry has changed a lot since GMOs and various Herbicides/Pesticides have entered the picture. Ultra processed foods are rife with modified foods so they can be sold at a lower cost. I would be surprised if this wasn’t part of the problem.

You’re completely right about the half-truths not being a good look for the left. It only serves to erode trust in media and rhetoric. The reason it worked for the right is because that type of propaganda works on idiots that don’t bother to investigate or can’t actually comprehend what is going on. It’s not going to have the same effect for those that haven’t fallen for the rights tricks.
What we actually need is more truth to be reported and more democratic politicians to actually have a backbone or getting replaced by a leftist who does.

Source-available isn’t the same as free and open-source. You might not be able to distribute or modify as you like to the former and may have any sort of license provisioned with further restrictions.
I’m sure it would persist even after an event of malicious activity. It may just turn out like email with servers needing to be added to an allowlist at worst and more moderation. I think scalability might be the limiting factor at some point though and as a result we could end up with several disconnected islands of server clusters instead of globally meshed servers.

I agree that ecologically it can be a better move but I also don’t blame anyone that chooses to have a child because who knows when politicians may revoke your ability to decide in the future.
The real problem is that our current way of life is a sinking ship and we’re close to the tipping point when the majority of people will need to find methods of living alternatively. Teaching younger people how to survive in this environment is going to be crucial. A lot will suffer through our collective ignorance until we find a new equilibrium with nature. We can adapt quickly and support climate positive actions or we can prolong it; I think we all know the current direction we’re going. Either way, until either the global ecological demand subsides, we’re just preparing future generations for an uphill battle.
I think it’s less on ceding metaphorical ground and more on getting people caught up that haven’t decoupled the “Jewish people are automatically Zionist” thought yet. The opposition is taking advantage of that preconceived notion that a lot of people have.
