I think Switch has a different market (albeit a bigger one)than the Deck.

There is definitely market overlap with Steam Deck but I feel the Deck offers things that the Switch doesn’t. In a similar vein, I think Steam Machine provides a kind of value that extends just beyond the console market. There are people who would not consider getting a console but would definitely consider getting a powerful and compact Mini PC with good gaming capabilities. Therein lies the greatest value of their offering.

Linux works better than windows for most apps/system stuff.

But there are certain classes of apps which are not up to par with whatever is available on windows. An office suite is one of them, I just use the Google suite (mostly sheets) in a browser, it works better for me.

I agree with the developers point about lock-in but sadly I don’t have enough time at work to work with libre calc over proprietary alternatives (I have tried it truly but the performance and user experience is just not good enough for someone already past deadlines)

Initially I thought it was something like Aurelius’ diary entry on not spending too much in books and living in the moment. Nope, he’s just lazy. I have a friend like that, who reads AI summaries instead of the actual articles. Infuriating to say the least.
