Look at the subject of the thread, and look at what they said. It’s clearly not something a MAGA on Lemmy would post in response to a news article critical of Trump, but a parody of what a MAGA would have said that led to the situation being described by the article.

IANAL but the precedence means that federal laws supercede state laws in the case of a conflict or ambiguity. It doesn’t (legally) mean feds can just do whatever the fuck they want with no interference from state LE.

Now, maybe there’s a federal law that says certain federal vehicles don’t require license plates. In that case, the federal law could override state laws requiring them. I have no idea if that’s the case though.

Virtually every single thing the immigrant fear-mongerers bring up to justify cracking down on “illegal immigrants” is already against the law and has existing enforcement. And since being here illegally is, for all intents and purposes, an administrative issue, it makes zero sense at all to expend extra resources specifically to go after them. Especially since the data shows that they commit crimes at lower rates than US citizens.

If you arrest someone for DUI, and find they are not authorized to be in the US, then OK there’s at least a case for taking action on the immigration issue. Otherwise, the only point is giving hateful rubes someone to punch down on.

These days I pirate the music, and if I like it I go back and buy the album directly from the band (when possible). If i really like it, I buy concert tix/merch. If it doesn’t tickle my fancy, then I don’t.

In either case, I don’t think the artist is too worried about the pennies lost from my Spotify plays.

Yeah, Lidarr is easily the weakest of the *arrs in my experience. As a newbie to setting up that stack, it was definitely nice to have a similar interface and functionality between the apps, but the last few months have me ready to look for something different for music.

As far as I can tell, no. I haven’t been able to search or import releases since about April.

I think the issue they are referring to is that Lidarr’s API or interface with the MusicBrainz database has been broken for a few months now, which means it’s impossible to search or add new artists/releases to your Lidarr library.

And as far as I can tell, it’s still down. I have been unable to use Lidarr for anything since about April, except for finding releases that I had already added to my local database.

Seems like the play will be: She releases a list of names that include lots of people Trump doesn’t like and omits anyone he likes, DoJ says “wow, she just helped us crack this thing wide open, super helpful!”, leniency is granted, and the country moves on from the whole thing satisfied with the knowledge that Clinton and some other democrats were the only pedophiles after all!
