2001 first introduced to Fedora (1?) A friend installed on my laptop. Used it for a little; but it didn’t do the things I wanted. A little while later I was back on XP.

I tried Ubuntu 6.04; it wasn’t ready. Back to XP.
I tried Ubuntu 8.04; it was really close. Back to XP.
I tried Ubuntu 10.04; and have had Linux ever since. I have jumped to various distros over the years, I kept coming back to Mint though. I currently have a couple of computers running Bazzite and the rest on Mint.

I do keep Windows VM’s around; XP, 7 and 10. But they barely get turned on these days.

I haven’t had Windows installed on a machine in 16 years; even in 09 it only lasted a couple of months till I got time to replace it.

So if someone was to hypothetically label an image in a blog or a article; as something other than what it is?

Or maybe label an image that appears twice as two similar but different things, such as a screwdriver and an awl.

Do they have a specific labeling schema that they use; or is it any text associated with the image?

Maybe profit isn’t the only motive…

I doubt it, I think the Miraka plant is produces mostly primary products not the secondary stuff.

Pretty sure I know the factory that this butter comes from. The Miraka plant; north of Taupō. Geothermally powered, restricts it to a relatively small region in NZ.

I was making the point, that despite the fact that this is mildly ok. The test for anything that gives one group power over another, is to switch the groups.

If it’s still reasonable, than it is probably OK to keep it. If however it seems wrong after the switch, the bar to keep the power imbalance should be very high.

Change the target to any other group and the outrage would be 100-10000 fold bigger.

Try it out, instead of Women rating men, try subbing in various minority groups or races.

Bonus points for the most offensive combinations…

e.g. Russians rating Ukrainians in your area…it can get pretty bad…I can think of many worse combos.

I use Mint, with little customization.

Mint basically gets out of my way, I care about the ability to get my work done.

I also prefer the windows paradigm rather than the Mac paradigm. IMHO Mint does it better than windows now.

I run mint 22.1 and have a 9070xt.

I used mainline to install kernel 6.14, works flawlessly.
