  • I don’t think that’s sensationalist at all. It’s a pretty direct and clear call for impeachment.

But I’d rather talk about that original Tweet. Obviously, Trump being impeached (and convicted by the Senate) would result in Vance replacing him; that’s how it works. But the choice to specifically highlight the Vance part of it implies not just a desire for Trump to be gone, but for Vance specifically to be in. Which is wild. I can’t imagine any human on earth actually being pro-Vance. There’s the sane people, who oppose the entire administration, and there’s the Magats who are rabidly pro-Trump. Who exactly supports Trump’s diet lacky?

  • I don’t disagree with you that these people are taking a message that seems inconsistent with the biblical portrayal of Jesus. But the above comment was criticising people “who feel the urge to spread Christianity in any way”. Which, yeah. Fuck them. If someone wants to do their research and convert to Christianity because they like it, more power to them.

But introducing children to that nonsense (by which I mean belief in resurrections and other obviously ridiculous bullshit, even if it’s not directly used to cause tangible harm) as though it’s fact at a vulnerable young age should be considered child abuse. And preying on vulnerable lonely or depressed people and using highly manipulative tactics like love bombing the way many evangelical branches of Christianity do, as do Mormons and I believe Jehovah’s Witnesses, should also be considered abusive behaviour.

  • that’s not that right way to get paid

I don’t know a whole lot about what Audacity is up to these days, but the same company owns MuseScore, and it sounds like they’re doing kinda similar things in terms of monetisation. The core software itself is still free, but there are optional cloud services on top of that which you can pay for.

I don’t see what’s wrong with this. Cloud services provide a convenience. Some people like that convenience and are willing to pay for it. Others might be perfectly ok doing it themselves and won’t pay.

It helps that the new head of design for both of these products is a guy who really knows his shit. He’s already taken MuseScore from an application that nobody in their right mind would use if they could afford the commercial competitors, to a legitimately great music engraving application, and he’s been on Audacity too since 2021.
