Oh, that’s me!
Thanks, Alk. I’m glad my little posts mean something to the general public here, I appreciate it!
I just play Steam Deck and write about gaming + Linux a lot

Most of these were not on-the-spot interviews. They were very informal questions and answers.
So Writer felt appropriate to me - the questions were there, they can copy to paste elsewhere, or enter their own answers in the document.
I bring this up often because its so amusing to me.
Last year I did a lot of interviews with developers of popular Steam Deck and Linux programs. All went really well, and were quite fun to do.
One ‘dev’ (I use that term so loosely because I found out GPT is heavily used for their work) freaked out though when they saw my document I sent initially was an .odt file.
Knowing I am a pen-tester, they freaked out and told the public at large I was trying to hack them with a weird file type.
.odt
It still makes me laugh. Anyway, I swear by LibreOffice, I use it daily and love it so much!

And people judged me for watching YouTube with uBlock Origin, or via NewPipe for eons.
Look who’s laughing now.
I did the same long ago, but I did go back to reddit. I wish I’d learned my lesson at the time -__-

Easy fix:
Buy a fitness/smart watch - an older one is fine, why go excessive
Download GadgetBridge from F-Droid/Droidify and then use that instead of a proprietary app which is just harvesting your data and telemetry at every chance:

Removing the messages option and instead replacing it with their stupid DM chat system, even for modmail
Stating that later this year they’re going to introduce walled off paid sub-reddit
That live stream nonsense they had a couple of years back
Their A.I. answers integration
Censoring users who mention ‘eat the rich’ and the name Luigi
No longer allowing moderators of their own sub-reddit to change a sub’s status to NSFW (after the protests, obv), now requires admin to do this for them if the deem it appropriate
…who’d have guessed that these decisions were shit. Not the community who told them each time, again and again, right?
Fuck you, Reddit
I enjoyed my time there immensely. I loved fostering a community, and helping people, I wrote guides and news posts, I helped other users via messages and overall felt like it was a nice place.
But over time Reddit got greedy, and for me to do the work for free (moderate), and then provide their content for free (my posts)…with how they treated us and will continue to?
My time is better spent on the fediverse. Here and Mastodon. I’m far happier here now.
Their other plan is removing their established messages system and sunsetting it completely over the next 3 months. Instead every message including modmail will be done with their horrendous instant chat system - those stupid DMs they have there.
I left moderating some significant subs back when with the 3rd party app protests, but did return to Reddit after that to start my own.
But now, since early December I’m done-done.
My account has been deleted (as with Discord), and I’m all in on the fediverse. Seeing the proposed changes (the concept of a paid sub that Spez is so adament about?), I just had enough. And the more news of Reddit I see, the happier I am I did.
Most of my daily time now is spent on Mastodon, but I am here every few days trying to share a post or two.
Voyager makes moderating a breeze, too!
