Is it just me or did the ammounts Americans sue each other for rise an order of magnitude in the last few years?

Reminds me of the German Telekom and their unceasing effort to slow down state subsidised fibre deployment.
The subsidies are primarily for towns left behind with bad ADSL (it was below 30mbit average and is now afaik 100mbit), that want to build their own local fibre nets cause nobody else does.
They seem to watch for construction permits and then swoop in and build a few fibre adsl distribution boxes or elevate a street or two with fibre to raise the average speed in town just above threshold. The local net looses the subsidies and usually stops construction or if already built only commercial customers are still allowed to be connected…

Had quite a few arguments with climate change trivialising friends/relatives. The classic “the climate is always changing” and “earth has been warmer”… The one point that seems to stop at least some in their tracks was this:
You know I studied geosciences? Do you know what we call the periods in earths history where climate was changing as fast as it currently does? We call them global catastrophes and extinction events!
Why do I have the feeling that I will end up in that nightmare with my privacy focused and ad-free Browser setup. I already end up in captcha hell too often because of it.
*checks that it’s not an onion article Oh…
I think it is time to revive: “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!”
Glad I decided to never touch 11. Seems almost customary to skip every second Windows version by now. I’m curious to see if it will be just a skip and they get their shit back together by 12. For now, surprisingly, I do not miss Windows one bit.
I still keep 10 around as dual boot for PCVR. Sure, I got it working (mostly) on Bazzite but its by no means trivial and hassle free. Everything else was smooth sailing most of the time. Just the few times I crashed head first into the immutable nature, caused me a bit of a headache.
