Melt your bank card in acetone. Carefully remove the chip and copper antenna. Place in small mould, fill with resin. Bobby Fingers (YouTuber) did this for a one-eyed friend so he could pay with his eyeball… Consider an rfid blocking case.

I normally get about four years or so out of an iPhone, with heavy and extensive daily use - works out as less than 50 (US) cents a day. I used to pay more for a newspaper.
I only made the switch when BlackBerry OS10 “failed” and they quit making handsets. I still miss my Z30 though…

Yes.

From my own personal view I find it very difficult to disagree with every part of your second sentence.

I browse… Twitter, 9gag, 4chan, BlueSky, Lemmy and Mastodon. I find a mixed bag of cunts and diamonds on all of them - and loads of people in between.
The world is not as black and white as you see it.
Perhaps you might try sorting the wheat from the chaff next time before you make definitive sweeping statements about various platforms.

Jesus Fucking Christ man… is this really how you see the world?

My almost five year old piece of under powered apple trash cost me less than 45 US cents a day, still has regular OS updates and works between eight to ten hours most days running my entire life. I might even splurge out and buy a new one if they ever release an overpowered non trash handset…

Thank you.
I saw it a few days ago. I know the guy from his glitterbomb videos but it was the Roadrunner vibe that really attracted me this time
I’m no scientist but if you can map space mountain with lidar then… it’s probably better then a camera at identifying physical objects blocking your path. And his short experiment seems to support that.

The single biggest issue must be that it was just funny / thought provoking content on YouTube - not a groundbreaking thesis being developed in real time.
However, some apparent shortcomings of the Tezla are probably worth following-up… by far more qualified individuals in a far more formal and peer reviewable environment.
Every generation will be more knowledgable than the previous… but there is no guarantee they’ll be more intelligent.

Unfortunate….
But true.

Nice to see whisky and whiskey both used correctly. One of the wildest spelling rules I know of…
The “g” stands for generation. So it’s the 5th iteration of the technology versus the 2nd iteration. Whilst there are many improvements (speed, capacity, security etc) there are some negatives. (I believe mainly to do with signal penetration - i.e. getting a signal in basements, stone wall houses, being behind objects etc.)
Where I’m currently staying I have: 2G, edge, 4G and 5G signals available.

I second this.

Still use my 5MX a couple of times a year… one of the most amazing pieces of technology I’ve ever owned.

Yeah - but when future generations (if there are any) appraise this time frame at least these folk will be seen as being outside and opposed to the oligarch-fascist take over.
Genuine question: re point 5. Is this some kind of joke? Political affiliation reflects one’s level of marksmanship? That’s an absolutely wild idea.
