The beauty of the 300-year-old American federalist system is that states enjoy a wide range of special rights to be ultimately determined by the current makeup of the Supreme Court with absolutely no checks on their power. Supreme Court Justices are lifetime appointees who can be bribed publicly and are free to lie about it, and there is no mechanism to question their ethics or remove them from their positions outside of a full impeachment like with Trump.

The state supreme courts have a good deal of power, but only to the extent that the federal Supreme Court doesn’t take it away. I can’t imagine a more fertile ground for fascism to be experimented upon legally if people of conscience do nothing.

Everybody has speculated where the line is for Trump supporters. In 2015, the line was 30% of all Republicans. That’s comical in hindsight. He promised a new beginning to rural voters who have been screwed over by the system for generations at this point with no end in sight.

A decade later, everyone forgot the possibility that there may be a line. Raping children. That’s the line. Years of dehumanizing Trump supporters has blinded everyone to the fact that they believe they’re cleaning up a deeply flawed system. A system run by evil Democratic pedophiles who worship Satan.

Finding out that the god emperor who is supposed to be the savior of the country is an actual child rapist shakes their belief in him to the core. He promised to release the Epstein files and bring justice to all these evil wealthy monsters. The fact that he is one of those monsters is his Achilles Heel.

This Epstein issue really could be different. The “democrats are pedophiles and Trump is going to stop them” myth is fundamental to MAGA. I don’t think they realize how foundational that was to their movement.

Meanwhile, Trump is clearly a pedo, ICE grabs kids at the border who disappear, and the administration’s laughable lack of confidence has put the coverup on display for everyone to see.

It’s not just Epstein. Do you think Trump just gave up on his favorite pastime after he and Epstein had a falling out? He’s the most powerful person in the world, and he has zero self-control. Where are his new victims coming from?

Simple explanation. When all the guards simultaneously fell asleep, one of them accidentally cut the power to the security system.

You can’t expect the Justice Department to provide footage that was never recorded in a freak accident that is totally not suspicious at all. It’s not like Epstein had mountains of dirt on the wealthiest and most evil people on the planet doing unspeakably horrible things to innocent children.

We should all just accept this ridiculous story as true and let the rich evil people get back to doing… whatever it was they were doing. I’ve already forgotten

The rich have too much by definition, but billionaires in America have an historically obscene amount of wealth. Wealth inequality in today’s America has surpassed pre-Revolution France.

Someone needs to run third party promising to run for only one term and clean up politics in Washington. Ethics reform, a ban on lobbyists, ban advertising in political campaigns, set up public funding for campaigns that reach a certain threshold of support, enact bribery laws with teeth that apply to public servants, etc.

Promote the best advisors and use best judgment on other pressing matters, but focus on taking a sledgehammer to this broken system and restoring democracy.

Good thing the American public is in the capable, steady hands of the Trump administration. The drone terror attack plan will no doubt be leaked from a top secret group chat soon and blow everyone away with its brilliance.

The real fun will be watching Trump try to blame Biden and probably even Hillary for the security failure. That’s the only card he knows how to play. Traitors everywhere pretending the emperor still has clothes on.

If blue states were to band together and do this, it would bankrupt Trump’s fascist federal government pretty quickly. Maybe a blue state Articles of Confederation is in order.

The actual facts and immigration status don’t matter. They’re after skin color. The first few waves of people going to El Salvador are test cases.

Move fast and break things: air traffic controller trainee edition

There needs to be a nationwide, unionized air traffic controller “consultant” business formed for when the shit hits the fan. Pay these people what they deserve to fix the disasters that will be caused by their ill treatment.

The derivatives market is leaning heavily on paused student loans when 2/3 of Americans are using layaway plans to buy groceries? And inflation is about to skyrocket again because of the tariff chaos?

Does the derivatives market deliberately choose bad long-term investments and plan on crashing? That would explain a lot.

Bernie not being the candidate in 2016 was the first problem. It compounded after that.

IIRC, Biden was fourth in the primary when Obama told the other establishment candidates to drop out and rally behind Biden because it looked like Bernie might win.

There’s footage of Buttigieg telling the press that he’s redirecting his plane to go concede on the way to a primary he had a chance of winning. Again, IIRC Warren stayed in the race to split the progressive vote.

The Democratic Party being bought out by a slightly less offensive class of billionaires for decades eroded their ability to understand anything approaching the lived experience of actual Americans.

The biggest joke is that their Silicon Valley billionaire supporters were the first in line not only to go full Nazi, but also to fix elections against them.

Wait until the facts come out and everyone realizes The Adjustor is still out there somewhere.

You know, the guy in the video that shot the CEO and had thin brown eyebrows that were far apart. The guy who disappeared without a trace leaving his backpack full of Monopoly money. The idea that someone that careful would buy a similar jacket and backpack and put a confession and the disposable murder weapon inside was always incredibly stupid. Luigi didn’t do it for real.

The stock market getting wiped out and it being harder to find a job is one thing. Groceries being unaffordable for half the country and getting more expensive by the day is entirely another thing.

Boomers watching their retirement go away as stocks crater is kinda sad, I guess. Not being able to find a job always sucks. But people on a mass scale not being able to afford food and basic housing is a crisis the US hasn’t seen since the Great Depression.

It’s getting worse every day, and there is no answer, no long- or even mid-term plan, and no one in actual power is even attempting to help. Democrats do nothing, and Republicans make it worse, while the Trump/Musk administration is Nero fiddling while Rome burns.

It’s hilarious to think that almost everyone thought this clown was real-life Tony Stark a decade ago. The people who worked with him knew better, but they were paid and under NDAs.

I still think Trump is setting him up to be the fall guy. He’s the patsy for all the crimes they all committed the second the heat gets turned up.

That or even earlier, Trump and his people get tired of dealing with him and decide it’s time to pull the plug. Make him the MAGA scapegoat for why his voters can’t afford the minimum payments on their credit cards anymore. Musk ran everything into the ground, and now some new plan with no details will save us all from his incompetence, etc., etc. The MAGA half of the country will believe it as soon as he says it.

I’m waiting for this to happen to a white parson who has an Hispanic name, like Rafael “Ted” Cruz.

If a journalist can do a human interest piece on a white parson sent to El Salvador or at least sent into the ICE black hole where the rule of law doesn’t exist, maybe that would drive the point home to “libertarians” and “small government conservatives.” Maybe it’s time to see past petty racism and see what’s at stake in the long term.

I sometimes think about what would have happened if Biden stood up to the DNC bosses in 2016 and ran in the primary. He probably couldn’t do much against the Clinton machine, but maybe just enough to make it more competitive. Divide the corporate Dem vote just enough…
