You still need a PD willing to gather, keep secure and submit evidence that portrays it as a hate crime. The detectives and LEO’s involved may be hiding statements, motives, physical evidence, etc, by simply not recording it as such.
Some IT guy, IDK.

You are calling people out about assumptions, and saying Joss was “acting erratically” and I would like to point out that you don’t know that his “erratic” behaviour wasn’t in response to anything, nor who may have incited him to act that way.
Just because he didn’t point the finger at someone for one crime or another, doesn’t mean he did it either. He may have been covering for someone to either save face or avoid escalation.
I’m not saying I know either, and that’s my point. You see some reports and news stories and you’ve drawn conclusions and made assumptions based on that without really knowing if any of the assumptions you made are correct.
The only person who really knew is dead now, at the hands of someone who clearly had issues getting along with him.
This argument is stupid. They might not know but neither do you.
Probably perpetrated by some dumb straight Christians.
But the reporting on this will focus more on the fact that the victim was ingenious and/or gay, than what’s going on with the shooter.
But we get headlines like “trans person sentenced to (insert punishment) for (insert random crime)” or something similar whenever anyone from the LGBTQ+ community acts out.
You’ll never see “straight man shoots a person because the shooter was a dick” or anything similar.
Fucking double standards.
Heh, it’s a small business and bossman isn’t exactly anti-AI.
I think GDPR and related laws, really tempered what Microsoft did to the whole of the European region. They didn’t want to deal with it, so they made as much as they could, opt-in. As opposed to the north american policies of either opt-out, or forced-on.
IDK. I don’t work at Microsoft, I’m just guessing. 🙃
For those curious, if you can get a European Windows product key, you can install the “N” version of Windows. Be warned, it only works with certain product keys…
The standard Windows installer should give the option of “Windows 10” or “Windows 10 N” (or similar). The N version is basically bloatware free out of the box…
The regular version has a bunch of promos pre-installed, like candy crush, and other things that most people couldn’t give a shit about…
Recently I’ve been playing a “fun” game with my work laptop where I’ll remove copilot, and a few days later it will appear again. Weeee. In that case, it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a policy in place to enable copilot on my works systems… I’m sure someone who works here, probably higher up the food chain than me, wants it enabled, and the ham fisted policy maker can’t create a policy just for those who want it, so everyone gets it because the bosses son Shane decided that he wants to see how much of his work can get done by AI so he can do even less while on the clock.
Gotta go put on your lady face and feel uncomfortable to use the restroom as a trans man now.
Can’t make the straights feel things!
And we certainly can’t have any ungendered bathrooms in public spaces. No siree.
/s (obv.)
Also speaking as a cis straight male, this is fucking stupid. Use whatever bathroom you feel comfortable going into, don’t be a creep and certainly don’t rape anyone… Those directives may be targeted at different groups of people… Just saying.
Be who you want to be.
I get it, you’re an optimist about it.
Nothing wrong with that. I try to take a more practical/grounded view.
In my experience, most people actively avoid thinking. If it involves any measure of mental effort, they would just rather not.
I see it every day.
I’ll say this: a lot of people using AI, are not thinking or making decisions.
Kek
I’m not sure who they were trying to fool? Bluntly, if you’re keeping your passwords in a local repo using strong encryption via something like keepass, you’re generally not the kind of person to see “KeePassXE Pro ultra mega best edition” and blindly download it without vetting the source…
Does it really matter? It’s a shit looking vehicle that can’t drive in the rain if you don’t switch to carwash? Mode? I think?
The vehicle has so many design oddities, so many manufacturing problems, and it’s associated to one of the least liked billionaires in recent memory, so much so that people in the general public go out of their way to vandalize the vehicle whenever the opportunity presents itself.
What’s to like about it? Even if you don’t hate Elon, and don’t hate the look/design, the"truck" is a meme at best and a gigantic waste of resources.
This is exactly right. They’re worthless if nobody is willing to pay what’s being asked.
So what they’re “worth” is nothing.
From the wording, it looks like they’re just going to georestrict their content to places that are not Turkey.
Far from a problem, unless of course, your primary following is from Turkey; or that’s where you live.
I don’t blame bluesky here, they operate internationally, and they have to obey the laws of the locations they operate in. Personally I’m wondering what kind of Internet posts are restricted in Turkey? Who has laws to say you can, or cannot say things on the Internet? Besides… I guess, China, and obviously illegal things like CP…
Were they posting CP?
IDK, I’ve never used bluesky. I barely used xitter, back when it was relevant, if I were to use anything as a replacement it would be Mastodon.
Anyways.
That is also an option.
Honestly there’s a lot of ways to make money in the market if you know what’s going to happen in the coming days that will affect it.
This is my thought exactly.
I watched Steven Colbert yesterday saying that this large of a fuck up is proof there is no deep state. While I get his point, I disagree. If there is someone in the shadows pulling strings this was the intended outcome.
It’s pretty well known that in trading markets, there’s almost always something that goes up when everything else drops like a rock. Even as such, moving money to be liquid right before a steep drop off, then buying up all the formerly high-value stocks at bargain basement pricing, and just waiting for the rebound, is a legit strategy. Having foreknowledge of such an action is considered insider trading however. Realistically, insider trading is difficult to prove unless the perpetrator is an idiot.
Whether you call it the deep state or the 1% or oligarchs, or simply “rich assholes”, if you believe there is a group orchestrating things, then you beat believe this was the intended outcome.
Narrator: they didn’t.
I can likely fall into some version of a category of learned professional. IMO, it’s fine, many of us have made our migration to Lemmy. Reddit can burn.
I’m not sure they’re going to be able to give those things away.
Seems to me, at this point, this is a bit like owning anything with a swastika on it in 1946.
Neither of those keys exist.
Probably because I keep uninstalling the software.
