Mostly international cooperation on developing weapon systems. F-35, NASAMS, naval strike missile, RIM-116 and some Abrams parts fall under that. It gurantees international customers and lowers US development costs. Sometimes the US likes a foreign weapon systems and buys some. That is rarer though.

Tesla stock was at $144 a year ago and is at $253 today. 5 years ago it was at $47. With income at $0.12 per share it is not like any of those are even close to reality. However they are what needs to fall to kill the Elon.

MIT license is still open source, so Ubuntu based operating systems can still be open source. The problem is that this makes it less needed that they have to be. However most current projects will probably stay proper open source projects and likely continue to use a better license.
