  • And lets be real here for a second. It costs actual money to develop and update Plex. All these people being butthurt about no longer being able to watch everything for free are entitled as fuck. It’s okay to pay developers for their time and expertise. A carpenter expects you to pay them. A painter also expects you to pay them. A software engineer expects to be paid for their work, and they won’t if people use their software for free. If you don’t want to pay for it, download your own shit, and if you’re hosting for a lot of users, tell all the users to download their own shit.

  • I’ve been hearing from americans my whole life, how the rest of the world doesn’t actually have free speech, while the USA has complete and total free speech, and is the most free country in the world ('Murica fuck yeee). Well congratulations americans, you can no longer voice your opinion in a private university without being arrested by the government. A university that WANT’S you to voice your opinion none the less. They’re not even trespassing, they have permission from this privately owned entity, to voice their opinion on this privately owned piece of land.

  • The entitlement of the business owners and CEO are the real fucking entitlement here. These pricks aren’t entitled to my motivation. If they want me to be motivated to work hard, they have to provide that motivation. If the pay is shit, the work is shit, the colleagues are shit, and the boss is an entitled prick, there’s no fucking way I’m motivated, and no fucking way am I gonna work hard.

While we’re on the topic. If a business owner wants his workers to care about the profits of the company. Maybe they should be guarenteed a part of the profits, possibly even make their share of the profits be determined by how much value they add to the company. Though I see why the business owner doesn’t want socialist stuff like that, since they’d end up owing the company money.

  • I promise you I’m not. But if the last 20 years have taught me anything, it’s that americans repeatedly fail to see their errors, until it specifically hurts themselves.

A lot of people who either voted for Trump, or didn’t really care about Trump are going to feel the impact of him. This isn’t just about Trump voters though. The democratic party is part of the same oppressive system that loves oligarchs, as long as they get paid by them. Instead of looking within and realising they were wrong, and that the system in the USA is broken throughout, they’re going to chalk it up to “well, that was unfortunate”, and learn absolutely fuckall from it, and vote for the next fascist bastard again next opportunity.

If they move to Europe, their values won’t have changed. They won’t have learned a thing, and they will continue to support that system, and vote for it when they get the permission to do so.

I’m not saying all americans are like this. No country is ever made up entirely of idiots, but the amount that would actually support the systems in place in Europe is a very small minority.

  • That’s my biggest issue with taking in americans. This isn’t something new, it just wasn’t done so overtly before. The people fleeing it may not agree with what is happening now, but they carry the fundamental issue with them. This is a problem with what america was built on, the freedom to not give half a shit about anyone else, and while a lot of people aren’t like that, and very well may integrate well into european cultures, a lot of other people want to get out because this time it wasn’t in their favour, and learn absolutely fuck all from it.

  • I will put those people into the “status symbol” group.

They may not give a fuck about the politics, the quality issues or being lied to, but they still want a Tesla for a reason. They could save money by buying a different car that performs equally or better. So they don’t buy it because of the price.

With no other incentive it leads me to the conclusion they want it because they think it makes them look “better” than everyone who doesn’t have one.

  • Seriously. I can handle being with family for a while, but would absolutely lose all will to live if I had to be near children every single day. Even more if I was actually supposed to be responsible for them. There are a lot of good reasons to not get children, the best one I have is that I just don’t want to be near them.
