From the little I’ve seen (or more had to be exposed to) they are 100% convinced that Lemmy is like 10 people and nothing else exists. They’re so walled in, much of those walls being built by themselves.

On a vaguely related note, reddit has been so deeply shit now for long enough where it has stopped being a good source of info. It used to be such a good place to find just about any info via a search but now the results are just so fucking weird. Trying to find stuff about new-ish games, tech support, recommendations for anything etc. has become so much harder now.

I and, from what I’ve seen discussed here and elsewhere online, many other people have stopped watching the channel because of many valid reasons completely unrelated to AI. I haven’t watched a single one of their videos for years, something changed in their content and I just lost interest. Then there have been several controversial events throughout the years, both objective bad stuff and subjective things that made many loose interest and faith in their integrity. They definitely became one of the many channels that lost it’s way because of how big it got. The animations became too “perfect” in a weird way, they lost their personality and they also got scared of having real opinions so they started doing this “all sides” shit and that’s when I tapped out. I’ve tried to watch new videos from them about once every 6 months or so, but I can’t even make it past a minute without completely loosing interest.

Just for the chance that this snowballs and we get more good guys with guns making moves like this, I’m buying a bag of popcorn kernels and cheap “champagne” (because I can’t afford anything else).

Yeah, it kinda feels like he doesn’t count though, he’s more like a demigod. Ozzy was kinda that too, but always felt like he had a human element that Iggy hasn’t, also don’t mean any of this in a bad way.
Seen both live a couple of times, superb shows even though I’m not a major fan of either’s music. Definitely appreciate the music and have no issues with it, just not my goto.

Dang, one of the few that I feel most people actually get sad about. He did get to live a long life though, longer than anyone else would have with all the shit he’s done (don’t mean that in a bad way). Rock in peace you legend.

Really? I very rarely come across it, and I use YouTube a lot. But when I do come across it I select “don’t recommend channel again” and dislike the video.

And for some (including me) that’s our only computer (other than phone). I just can’t afford anything, so all I have is a shitty laptop from 2010 that barely plays 1080p video. I deeply want something better, especially a steam deck, but doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon (or ever). And then you see people have steam decks that just sit there, unused, gathering dust… fuck.

It’s the only reason I use it, and it’s weird and bad that they only support that distro and version (which has reached EOL). I’ve talked to them about it and all they say is “We see the need from users for support of newer Ubuntu versions and other distros” which is such a nothingburger of an answer. I spent three days with several other distros and Ubuntu versions trying to figure out a fix but sadly never found one. I just wanna use Linux Mint or anything other than Ubuntu, especially a 5 year old version.
