  • Its mostly if I see the distro as unmaintainable (looking at gentoo), too much of a hassle to keep updated (Like tumbleweed on a PC i just about never use), or generally not fit for my purpose (If it dosent have packages I need, forces flatpaks, or is generally built in a way I dont find it comfortable to use

  • Yes, but:

To get to this point, OpenAI had to suck up almost all data ever generated in the world. So in order for it to become better, lets say it has to have 3 times as much data. That alone would take more than 3 Lifetimes to get the data alone, IF we don´t consider the AI slop and assume that all data is still Human made, which is just not true.

In other words: What you describe will just about never happen anymore, at least as long as 2025 will still be remembered

To be fair, Theres not really any phone that dosent use sweatshops except fairphone if you disregard the Qualcomm and other proprietary parts

But yes, Its really shitty, like, I am using an old samaung S3 as internet radio to this day, and an S7 with lineage as Retroarch gaming console, and they both run completely fine with and without battery. If those were iPhones from that era, they wouldn’t even work anymore

say their iPhone is preventing them from Installing what they want.

Mind blown that’s what you are paying 1000€ for every few years for you Starbucks capitalist - coffee (a coffee for about 25€ thats just a normal coffee so those Hippies can feel like they are fighting capitalism) drinking dipshit.

How does it take someone so long to realise one of the main points of a product they are buying? Like, its like if I’d use a toilet plunger from public bathrooms as totthbrushes, and just after getting e.coli 10 times I realised that they aren’t there to brush teeth.

You want the 3 f’s? Freedom, Foss and fortnite? Start standing up against such business practices.

  • So, a service is something yourself have to pay for continuusly. A VPN Server from hetzner for example costs like 30€ a month, so in order for it to be lifelong, meaning like 80 Years, you`d have to pay 28.800€. And I say that with only 1 active Server.

So if you only pay like 300€ or less once for lifetime, you`d still have to rely on people paying the subscription in order to subcidize the cost of the people who paid only once.

But since people who use it regularly will buy a lifetime license, you always need a steady stream of New users to subsidize the old ones
