The data on these things is completely unreliable. Wallets are opened and dumped at will. I don’t think that you’re really wrong. It is likely very concentrated. But I know that there is no reliable way of actually coming to this statistic.

Decentralized currencies will only actually make sense when the material incentives of our economic system would benefit from them. Capitalism is literally all about concentrating the control of capital and the means by which we produce things. Sadly, decentralized currencies will never be allowed to decouple themselves from these economic systems. There is too much material power to prevent that. And by material power I mean literally the enforcement of these concentrations of wealth through the use of violence.

The tech is cool. But it doesn’t magically solve the problem by simply being invented. It’s why no one is actually paying with these cryptocurrencies on anything but an extremely small scale.

A currency that cannot be manipulated by capitalist for their benefit has no place in our world. So, it will never reach any meaningful real use until those structures are dismantled. It will just continue to be a speculative asset that rich people dump their extra wealth into and poor people play as the lottery.

I would say this is the WORST (not really) attempt to try to connect the current American state to Nazi Germany. There are much much better comparisons when considering class conflict. I guess I’m the “idiot” and this is likely good propaganda for the “normies” in our current state. So maybe I’m out of touch in that regard. The Civil war is not the historical comparison to make. This is significantly more similar to Italy under Mussolini or Germany under Hitler. There is no clear state divide and geographical boundary set like that today. There is absolutely no chance of a Civil War.

Look at the leaders of every blue state trying to find their position in the new fascist state we have. Gavin Newsom being the most obvious example.

They will allow the purge of what the fascist consider “undesirables” from their state as long as they keep their position in the ruling class safe.

Yeah that’s probably for the best. I say this with no judgement as a former WoW addict. It’s the time to do shit in the real world and get organized to resist these Fascist. Hit up PSL (Party for Socialism and Liberation) or DSA (Democratic Socialist of America) in your area. If anything it will give you a social life on Friday/Saturday (usually when they have meetups for PSL in my experience). PSL in my area even organized child care during meetups/protests.

Also, your local SRA (Socialist Rifle Association) if you have one. Basically the only place to train with a weapon that isn’t filled with MAGA hats. But they have literally been overwhelmed since November so might have to deal with hogs in another course if you’re interested in that. Again, depends on your location.

That’s my experience trying to explore real life anyway. Your path might be different. Plenty of mutual aids to join. Lots of local organizations of any kind our leading the charge to resist ICE. Depending on your location that might be a Mosque, Synagogue, Church, Temple, etc. (Thats one of the main reasons they now legally allow ICE to raid them. Which is FUBAR.) Find out what works for you in your area.

I’m not even kidding. At this point the amount of comments on Lemmy that I’ve read that had 10+ year old Reddit accounts banned for “inciting violence” is crazy. I was one of them a few months ago. Told a dude denying a Nazi salute was a Nazi salute to “go to hell where Nazis belong”. Was banned within an hour. Permanent and IP/Metadata banned. Instant response of “no” to my unban request.

I wasn’t referencing the article I was speaking more generally on things like “Democracy Index” or others that care more about a country having unregulated free markets than they do about citizens having healthcare. This is often what these “democracy” surveys refer to as Economic Freedom. You can pretend it’s how they act like it’s defined like “oh the government can’t tell you what business you can run as a poor mom and pop shop”. But in reality it’s the biggest players that benefit from unregulated markets on a global scale.

The software likely disengaged because the wall was so close it could not function. It would be the same as if an object suddenly covered up the camera while you were driving. It would turn off the autopilot/FSD or whatever they call it. (At least I hope it would)

This is likely what happened. The software hit an invalid state that defaulted to disengaging the autopilot feature. Likely hit an impossible state as the camera could no longer piece the “wall” parts of the road with the actual road as it got too close.

Likely an error condition occured that would happen in the same way if an object suddenly covered the camera while driving. It would be even more concerning if the autopilot DIDN’T disengage at that point.
