Yeah, those actions had a significantly larger impact, but don’t forget the contribution to stalling escalation some groups like the Black Panthers achieved. Nonviolence often beats out violence, but it won’t deter everyone.🩷

America is dark at a nonfunctional level. Community is the remnants of the light.

Ok. That makes more sense. Thank you for expounding.
Yeah, I absolutely agree with the portrayal of anything political to be overblown. I visited Portland for the first time a few months ago to see an old friends and expierience what the city was like with my own eyes.
Ofc, there hasn’t been any tanks or marching en mass in DC, but they so have weapons and I did see a Humvee or two in my search. Idk who thinks of it as a North Korea style regime.
Trump is not all powerful, but seems to dodge every consequence to his actions and has encouaged setting up concentrations camps while also deporting actual citizens. I don’t know whether I consider him more Fascist or just the dictator for the Money Oligarchy, but you are correct that resistance does work against the policies/plans where in full fascism it wouldn’t. It’s a shame that definitions are so free-form now by intent and sabotage.
And as to random protest images, here is one of my very favorites in solidarity.

Ok. Sure. If current veterans get easier access to healthcare and so does everyone else I’m all for it. The VA is half-broken right now anyway. I just don’t want people reliant on help to suffer, even if I disagree with them.

They are not for civilian hunters
Ohhh, sorry OP. I think M4s are specifically designed for civilian hunters. They seem very useful when hunting them.
(Jokes are my coping mechanism 💜)

Three questions: What? Why? Aren’t you in the UK instance?

Bruh. You’re mad. Like, really mad. Makes me think you aren’t thinking clearly. Even if it’s “just a photo op” there are livestreams and plenty of photos of National Guard troops in DC. I found some from 2 days ago, and 2 weeks ago with a quick search.
Yes, this is also a distraction like most everything else has been. No, the sensationalist news media is not fully trustworthy. Yes, there are armed National Guard troops in Washington DC. No, having some people say they haven’t seen guards does not disprove their existence.
My question to you is, what makes you deny their existance so hard? Do you honestly believe publicity stunts don’t have an impact even as just stunts?

The frog in the water pot and the bystander effect are closely linked, methinks.

I will never forget their Coca-Cola fudge cake.

Why? Because they decided not to rebrand? Sounds like you just want an excuse not to go there. You don’t need one.

Close enough I suppose. I think of them as Decree Enforcement. Nothing lawful about how they act.

That’s my method. I tested a little bit when the beta phase for Google rolled out. Now I don’t use any AI at all. It can be useful as a search results +, but not much else for me.

Translation: “No, they have not stopped genocide.”

That was some good rounding out of the data, thank you. I see better where you are coming from. Colbert being 15M per year is beyond crazy. I had no expectation of his salary being that high. Unless they were using him to pull more subscribers for other shows there is definitely no reason to have that salary on top of the production costs.

Well yeah, some people cannot handle their opinions being challenged, but you are also guilty of insisting on a hardline that seems unlikely to be the only explanation. If media companies are looking to axe people, it makes perfect sense they would pick someone who is not growing while also deplatforming someone who speaks against their ideals. So Colbert lost almost 1/4 of viewership over 5 years, but how does that compare to Kimmel or Fallon viewership? Without a baseline for comparison, your statistics are just arbitrary. The Times even said that ad revenue is about half for all Late Night shows compared to 2018, but if there are also half as many shows, then the profit/loss should be similar.
Overall, I don’t believe anyone would cancel a show that still draws over 1mill viewers for “financial reasons”. Redo the budget, sure, but not cut the entire program.
Edit: well written and reasoned though. The comment was a good conversation contribution. It’s unfortunate downvotes always represent agree/disagree instead of productive/counterproductive.

Local results are the only thing I have left to judge by. It has been a loosing battle for a long time, and they “patched” some of the last true communication and outreach available to indiviuals wanting to communicate nationally and worldwide. (The whole Twitter jounalist crackdown a while back comes to mind)
Everyone is getting too tired to put in effort for upholding values, but my stance is opposite that, I’m way more stubborn than people realize. I’m in the right place, and changed some things for the better at work. Might be time to switch my energy to my community. I want to transition from their Sysiphus to their fuckass-boulder.
The last step is finding out how to pit mega funding against eachother in a way that ultimately benefits locals.

Nono, see. They want to lock in repeat visits and gain them as an investor, then use their influence to suckle cash out of the remaining populace.

The only saving grace will be if they code in trying to fill a plane for efficiency. I could see an AI making last minute flights at an actual discount but only if full flight efficiency is prioritized over individual sale margin, so not likely. It’s aloft on an wing and a prayer.
Here is my argument. He only looks similar. They “found” a gun when searching the backpack way later out of eyewitnesses. Why would he have a manifest and such with him in an entirely different state after leaving a crime scene. But I’m also just a layman and could be wrong.
