We don’t learn much about recent events of Colombian history, but a lot of international history.

Tangential: Recently, I was talking with a friend of how in Colombia, schools don’t teach much of recent events of Colombian history (Colombia has been in a pseudo-civil war for almost 80 years), but we learn A LOT about WWII, Vietnam war, Korean war, cold war, etc.

Given that the Goverment has done extremely nasty things in these decades, I’m somewhat convinced this is intentional.

The most ridiculous thing in the conversations I read was someone arguing that the fact that Anduril has a member at SC (Steering Committee) weakens their position. The mental gymnastic is so insane to me because it completely naively expect people who have a conflict of interest to do the right thing. What if they don’t ?

This is happening at my company. They gave us 6 months to build an AI-tool to replace a non-AI tool that has been very well built and tested for 6 years, and works perfectly well. The AI tool has some very amazing features, but it could never replace the good old tool.

The idiot in charge of the project has such a bad vision on the tool, yet likes to overhype it and oversell it so much.

You reminded me of a creepy thkng that happened in my country, Colombia, around 30 years ago:

A university’s medical departament was found to be attracting homeless people by promising them trash (it’s common here for homeless people to get money by recycling trash), and then murdering them inside the university. Medical students would then, unkowingly, do their practices with said bodies. Some organs were also allegedly trafficked.

There is no exact data of how many people died like this, but an estimation is around 50. Aditionally, basically all of the people behind this faced no repercusion.

Petro is a rather radical leftist in Colombia’s context. However I agree, it doesn’t make muchos se se forma him to order this, specially since this is gping to hace a negative effect con his ratings.

There’s some hipothesis, but none of them have evidence:

1. Guerillas/criminal armed groups. Miguel Uribe’s discourse was heavily against them

2. People from his own party. This is a huge blow to Petro, and possibly unificates the right.

3. Leftist party: I don’t see this one making sense, but is Colombia, nothing would surprise me.

4. Other business: he comes from a powerful and corrupt family, that has ties with narcotrafficants.

Something interesting is that the hitman, a 15 year old boy, tells to people who captured him when asked about who contracted him that “I will tell you the numbers”.
