People will die as a result of the Democrats allowing Republicans to strip healthcare funding. To allow that to happen in order to gain political leverage is unconscionable.

There’s no denying that what Republicans are doing is evil and will kill millions of Americans. But there’s another kind of evil in standing down and allowing an evil force to do whatever the hell they want. Do not forget today, the day Democrats abandoned you to the Republicans whim.

Frankly, these are just the ones that were most convenient for the Dems to throw under the bus. Many more are complicit, Chuck Schumer most of all. Let’s be as loud about demanding his resignation as we are about the Epstein files. He’s failed the American people far too many times.

Gates often gets a pass because he gives away a lot of money and “advocates” for a wealth tax. But he’s still a billionaire and still hoards more resources and power than any single person could ethically possess.

Cruelty is the entire point. They’ve weaponized it against the American people as a deterrent to whomever they perceive as being a nuisance.

Won’t happen until there’s demand which won’t exist so long as flying is so accessible.

People fly because it’s the fastest means of travel. The fastest trains will never be as fast as flying but people are also never going to be able to drive as fast as high speed rail.

I say do it! Air travel is a huge waste and harmful to the environment. Maybe this will finally lead to better trains!

When it comes to the next election, I’m not fucking asking. They may forsake the Constitution but that doesn’t mean we have to.

A Republican, the party of fiscal responsibility, ballooning the national debt to record numbers? Who could have seen that coming??

I switched to Tidal two years ago and I’m happy with it. As some have said, it’s missing a few features but nothing critical to me at least and it being cheaper is worth most of the missing stuff I didn’t use. >95% of the tracks off my 800+ running playlist of liked tracks that I manually ported over from Spotify were available on Tidal.

I was chatting with some folks the other day and somebody was going on about how they had gotten asymptomatic long-COVID from the vaccine. When asked about her sources her response was that AI had pointed her to studies and you could viscerally feel everybody else’s cringe.

Facts are irrelevant to these people. They trust nobody’s word beyond those who affirm what they want to believe.

ICE operates out of a building south of downtown and there have been a handful of protestors camping out and protesting in front of the building 24/7 since June. The protestors have been for the most part peaceful, the ICE agents however have been violent, beating protestors, aiming guns at them, shooting them with pepper balls and gas cannisters, and deploying a variety of unknown chemical gasses.

The grade school next door to the ICE building had to move because of concerns over exposing the kids to those chemicals. The residents of the apartment buildings across the street aren’t so lucky. Portland’s own police department recently testified under oath that ICE has been instigating violence over the protestors.

There’s a movement to evict ICE from the building. Just the other day, ICE was found to have committed over 20 violations of the agreement they had struck with the city in order to operate from that location this year alone. I wouldn’t be surprised if the escalation from Trump is in response to that.

Maybe something’s going over my head but my understanding is a VPN can get you around region locks but you still have to pay for the streaming service to access it.

Unless you’re talking about using a VPN to pirate, which I’ve definitely done without a VPN, albeit a long time ago.
