  • If you’re looking to have an argument about regulations, I believe you’ll find I’m a poor choice. I support more relaxed regulations on the guns themselves than you likely do, much less regulating things that can be used to make guns. Suppressors should be seen as safety equipment rather than locked behind an antiquated tax, SBR/SBS should be removed from that same tax system not because of safety but simply because the NFA was bad and pointless from the start, people between the age of 18 and 21 still deserve their rights (OR we need to raise the age of legal adulthood to 21, including military service and trying people as an adult, but the mix-matched mess is nonsense), there’s more but that’s enough controversial opinions on regulation to make my point:

Tl;dr I don’t support regulation of much, including any of that stuff you said. Fact still remains that printing a chairmanwon g19 is very, very possible. I won’t even bring up how much easier it is than learning how to use a lathe nor how much cheaper it is to buy an ender3 than a CNC mill.

Well tbf, they did keep moving them on me and hiding them from me.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they moved them again…behind an AI wall that can interact with them but you can’t without using that AI. Also they’ll continue to reset them whenever they feel like it, if they even successfully get changed by the AI, if the AI doesn’t say “I can’t let you do that Dave” when you try and disable telemetry.

  • It looks like I’m using an adblocker you say? Well, I have to agree there!

Short of being able to actually read the article, “free my mans he didn’t do nothing.” So what he had weed and guns including destructive devices according to the ATF, did he hurt anyone or was he just mega fucking cool? If nobody was harmed and he didn’t have a manifesto, the worst crimes he’s guilty of are “possessing metal we say no to” and “smoking herbs we say no to,” I.E “not shit.”

Now, if he did hurt someone or threaten his wife or some shit, then yeah, lock him up and give me his guns and weed for safe keeping.

  • Running a framework 16 with FedoraKDE and before that a 4gb ram 2015 toshiba satellite (in 2024) running Fedora (regular Gnome) and haven’t had one of these issues. Most issues I have had were caused by me, every now and again I run into a regular old bug in something and half the time that gets fixed pretty quick.

I wish I could help, but we just have opposite experiences unfortunately. That said, because of this I don’t think it’s “linux,” or I’d likely have at least similar experiences.

OH for a while I did have a bug where VLC would stutter playing video and nobody had a fix, so I uninstalled/reinstalled VLC and it works now. Idk, I’ve had shit like that happen on windows too though, it’s basically the software version of power cycling hardware when it acts up.

  • I want to make a drone and a dropper for meshtastic and totally-not-weed purposes, I wouldn’t be making bombs, but I gotta say, it really isn’t that hard to make bombs if you did want to.

Sure we can’t get the RPG heads to duct tape on em, but a primer positioned over a pin, some gunpowder and lead shot, a weight in the front of the shell to ensure it falls right, and a 3d printed shell will be pretty effective against soft targets. “Conveniently” for bombers here there isn’t much armor to contend with in the streets, nobody has tanks/BMPs or even pelvic plates on their carrier (hell not even many plate carriers day to day, even though people do have them.)

Hell, the Boston marathon bombing was done with a pressure cooker from Kohls and nails from Home Depot, sure those can’t be drone delivered, but explosives aren’t actually unobtanium, you just need to do a little more work.

And again for the FBI guy in the back, I’m not making bombs, I’m using it for radio, and I don’t even have one yet because I wanna try and find one I can program to follow me to extend my radio range (which I’m like 80% sure is possible.)

  • Go for a popular/“beginner” distro (basically mint or fedora or fedoraKDE, or Bazzite for gaming) so you can search up anything you need, and before you install anything test it all out with the live boot disk you created; keep backups and don’t be afraid to fuck up, at worst you reinstall and you can script much of the set up process; and do not be afraid of the terminal, learn its secrets, watch a “bash beginner” and “linux terminal beginner” video or a few on youtube and follow along like it’s a class, you’ll be fine.

That’s it, you’ll have specific questions later, but for now that’s all you need.
