  • Ultra processed, it’s not even a fucking regulated term. It’s whatever they want it to mean. It’s a buzzword to make the study more palatable, easier to get the grant.

We can now detect how much energy you get from ultra processed foods. What does that even mean? Are we talking about carbohydrates here? Do they consider whole wheat flour an ultra processed food?

When you click the link in the article to ultra processed foods they specifically call out frozen pizzas. Now a frozen pizza is not a diet food or a health food item, But they’re not loaded down with artificial ingredients they’re frozen they don’t even need an overabundance of preservatives.

  • Biden did it because he thought it was the right thing to do.

Biden did it because it was the best option available to him at that time.

He either played ball with AIPAC or got shut down by them. He didn’t have the points to oppose them. It didn’t make it right, there is blood on his hands. In hindsight, he never had a chance and could have at least made a showing to stop it.

If he hadn’t done it, he would have assuredly lost to Trump, who would do it anyway (as we’ve seen). He needed to get in to hit the brakes or it would have been for naught anyway. Harris had the same problem, barely enough points to show, AIPAC would have smothered her as well.

I’d like to say that they would definitely have stopped it if AIPAC wasn’t standing at their neck with a knife, but I don’t know that for sure.

I’d also like to say that if they would have stopped it, we’d all have joined to them and voted our asses off in swing states and made the decision work. But honestly, I have less faith in the US people than I have in the Democrats, and that’s saying something.

  • Millions of vulnerable people lose medical coverage. Family’s got to step up and pay out of pocket or Uncle Jimmy doesn’t get cancer treatment. We’re going to have a lot of dead, poor, relatives on our hands.

Those Medicaid and Medicare payments don’t just go to the poor, they actually fund the medical practices seen those people. You’ll see a lot of small practices go under.

Prices at hospitals will go up. Insurance costs will rise, because they’re not just going to take all these high risk people on and eat the cost.

It’s a big fucked up ecosystem, full of legitimate issues and full of greedy AF motherfuckere that will use any excuse they can find to deny more treatments, charge more money, and het that much richer

  • They recycle plastic be either hitting it with a shitload of heat/pressure and turning it in an oil (that doesn’t make a good plastic) or by chopping it up, heating it up with a bunch of dye and forming/forcing it into lawn furniture.

HDPE, ABS, PLA are soft and melt nice, they kinda fall apart easily at temp. They discolor, but they stay structurally consistent. PET/E doesn’t turn into chewing gum when it gets hot, you can stretch it into fibers and they kinda stick together when you need them. Even using it as 3d filliment is hit or miss consistency+wise.

  • Soda bottles are horrible candidates for recycled plastic. They need to hold up to a decent amount of pressure and then need to last under those conditions for like 6 months.

You can make a have decent textile out of it. You can make a subpar 3D printing filament out of it.

I think the best use I’ve seen is to use it as an additive to plastic decking. It’s one of the uses where the color and texture changing won’t be noticed.

A lot of other plastics are a hell of a lot easier to reuse in other situations, But for pressure you can’t beat PET and a PETE for cost.
