  • I feels like all these is really non-issue for dailly user, you’re not gonna open the stuff up every week, most likely you’re gonna need to do it once in a year or two to change some part. If you have any skill repairing stuff, cleaning it up is just a matter of having a toothbrush and some toothpick to clean up the gunk before doing the work, and you will already own a set of driver.

And smart watches tend to add glue because it is more reliable than rubber gaskets for water resistance

Debatable. Some car’s waterpump rely on rubber o-ring to seal up the cooling system, and those run at around 12/16psi and in high heat constantly while car is in working condition, and it can last for years before it leak. Rubber o ring also played an important role in sealing International Space Station. It’s the quality of the rubber o ring that is important, it can easily pass ipx7 or even ipx8 rating if the casing is properly designed, and lasted longer than the battery would if quality o-ring is used. My guess is glue is often used because it’s cheaper, as you can apply it in any shape you wanted, instead of having to manufacture a shape that fit the use case.

  • It’s EPB, do you even know what is EPB? Projection much? The thing work exactly like this with home mechanic able to repair it no issue for years, now one idiot with no common sense decided to buy a super expensive tools that isn’t meant for them and still failed at the task at hand, then a manipulative youtuber decided this is a problem, and then suddenly this become a huge problem as if the world is ending.

Edit: look, i know emotion is running high now because everyone favorite guy is wrong, but do yourself a favour and find out what EPB are, why it’s actually better and safer, and how long before you need to change your rear brake, not front brake, rear brake.

  • Well maybe not all, but how many out of that 1 model have that maintenance mode? I work on many, none of them have it. Honda, toyota, subaru, vw, even chinese brand like geely, all required a scan tool. The good news? A generic scan tool is enough to set it, doesn’t have to be an expensive proprietary tool made just for that specific model that come with those bs. The bad news? Car maker only release it to aftermarket scanner after a few years or so, like the hyundai ionic 5 here.

And even then, like i said, you can just unbolt the motor and turn the piston. 20 years in this industry, this is the first time there’s this much drama on basic shit like this.

  • Yeah, i watched the video and the dude just yap and yap and yap non-stop, and the actual content is only at the front of it.

That trick works with all EPB, you can also take off the motor and turn the mechanism yourself, that’s how all backyard mechanic does it for every car with EPB without buying the tools meant for workshop. There’s nothing special to it. Dude could’ve save a lot by send it to dealership instead.

Edit: also all car with EPB works that way, this is not uniquely hyundai, you need a scan tool to retract that piston, or you do it the way backyard mechanic do. There’s like so much unnecessary drama here.

  • From my friend, the main advantage the switch have is the UI for games is being design for handheld from the get go, so big, readable font and icon is by default already there and is made to fit. PC game tend to made for either a 24inch or so monitor or big tv for couch gaming, games that doesn’t have UI accessibility option on a handheld PC is unplayable for a lot of people.

Also that damn controller can be split so coop is so accessible. Not to mention that first party games.
