All the developement roadmap are often times trying to replicate Clip Studio Paint as it becomes the most used digital painting software for newer generation. Like comic/manga layout, integrated 3D pose, etc.

Fan manga and other doujin works usually depends on the original copyright holder for enforcement.

Some are pretty open for any fanworks being commercialized as long it’s limited and case by case basis. For example, Love Live franchise allows doujin manga and other doujinshi works, but not with fanmerch. Serial Experiments Lain generally allows various stuff, but not R18 content. Some others like Yakitate Japan mangaka just happy seing his works have so many adult doujin manga, and even lining up on Comiket buying them.

Well, fuck. Most of people use F-Droid on “certified vendors” device.

I’m actually a Photoshop and CSP users that regularly report missing features to Krita and GIMP. Even Krita dev often ask community which featuers they want from CSP. Some example that GIMP and Krita does not have that I remember:

• 3D environment (available on CSP and PS)
• flexible several document views (only on CSP)
• adjustable anchor resize (only on CSP)

A lot of advance features of Photoshops simply does not exist on any FOSS alternative.

They cannot do that to every manufacturer, as most of countries are incentivized to not dependent on American or any foreign product.

I can see China or European manufacturer will slowly move from Windows. At least China already learning the hard way from Android-Huawei relationship.

If this can run Clip Studio Paint, I’ll take it.

Krita and GIMP lacks too many advance features for comic creation.

As much as I want to move from them, Excel and Photoshop are too advance compared to any alternative, including both FOSS and commercial one.

Even Excel Online is not as advance as Excel desktop.

Casual users can get away from them, not advance user that needs unique feature only available in the software.

While on Facebook, there are a ton of community from SEA, East Asia, Africa, Middle East, and so on.

Also, Facebook Lite makes the poorest people in my country to be able to access social media without using too many internet quota.

The variation of groups is far beyond any social media, even Reddit or any other community site. You can get thousands of variation of Minecraft groups that exactly suits your community needs. Or maybe just a city chicken fried seller community.

As much as it’s true, not all company are doing this. There are plenty of good East Asian company with good work life balance, especially newer company that already recognize the issue.

Also, for a lot of countries, moving to Bluesky is like moving from American controlled platform to the same American controlled platform.

1. Non-Westerner that never have or realized alternative platform exist.
2. Artist that dependant on mainstream social media reach. (some artists already have 100K+ followers there, fedi also have limited reach due to instance blocking, e.g. you’re on Mastodon.art and want to reach Japanese audience (mainly misskey.io, but t was defederated on most of Western instance.)
3. People with social network bubble outside Westernsphere, they only have exclusively local feed on their Twitter.
4. People outside Westernsphere that already tried fediverse, but moving back as fediverse is still Western-centric or does not have their own community on feidverse.
5. Community that does not have monetary power to invest on their own fedi instance.
