I think that’s their point

I have a 9560, and I’ve personally replaced the ssd, ram, battery (multiple times, both sizes), ac jack, and wireless adapter, plus redid the thermal paste, this all in the 5 or 6 years that I’ve had it. It’s pretty easy to work on, you just need a Phillips and a few sizes of torx. The official service manual is a huge resource there.
My L15 Thinkpad looks comparable too, though I’ve only done the ram it’s also just a matter of removing some screws.
It definitely seems to me like they’re trying a similar strategy to Microsoft’s Surface line or Google’s Pixel line where the main goal isn’t really to outcompete directly, but rather to influence the market by a) proving that the platform is viable and b) providing a blueprint/setting expectations for third-party manufacturers considering getting in on it. I swear I remember valve saying they were open to licensing steam os to third party devices (granted, I dunno if anyone’s taken them up on it), and they obviously want as many people on steam as they can pull off.

I generally don’t mind ordering on a touchscreen, but every time I’ve attempted it at a Wendy’s in the last year (multiple locations in different towns) I had to go to the desk because something wasn’t working

I fucking love the summer salad. I can’t afford it, so I’ve only had it like twice, but it is delicious. I don’t get how a pile of leaves can cost more than $10

I’ve heard that there’s some older windows games that don’t run in newer versions of Windows but do run in proton

Hear me out: orbital pumpkins

Mine’s from 2023, and tbh it’s just as repairable as my old Dell latitude from 2011. Even a lot of the ports come on little boards separate from the motherboard. The only big thing soldered on I see is the cpu. I’m not saying this is universal, we’re certainly trending away from laptops like this, but it’s not like they don’t exist, they’re just not as chic

Lots of laptops are just as repairable as a framework if you don’t mind using a screwdriver. Just watch a teardown video before you buy. I’ve only ever owned Dells and Thinkpads, but both have been super easy to work on.
You took the words right out of my mouth

That’s gotta be the most evil-looking dude I’ve ever seen

I did

Heads up SUPER NSFW

Oh that’s easy, woke is when uninspiring logo design

Look in my face, step in my soul, I begin to BOOMERFY!! WHUAAH!!!

Um, that’s the metaphorical definition of “gut punch”, not the literal one. The literal definition of “gut punch” is, well you know, when you take a punch to the gut. It’s when an actual fist suddenly displaces your favorite abdominal organs. Houdini was killed by a literal gut punch (rip). As far as I know, metaphorical gut punches only killed Padme (rip). Two totally different definitions, and the whole point of the word “literally” is to convey the correct one.
We literally can’t say that literally every phrase literally matching its dictionary definition (regardless if it’s the literal or metaphorical definition) can be literally prepended by the word “literally”, because that’s literally every phrase in the dictionary, literally (literally).
