Some DHS officials have threatened to quit and are concerned their emails are being monitored, sources say.
White House pressure to ramp up deportations has sparked rising tension and finger-pointing inside the Department of Homeland Security, with the agency’s secretary, Kristi Noem, and her top adviser blaming subordinates for not hitting arrest quotas and undermining their relationships inside the West Wing, according to two DHS officials with direct knowledge of the matter.
Noem and her close adviser Corey Lewandowski have sought to deflect blame from themselves for any White House frustration with the pace and scope of the deportations, pinning it instead on the leaders of the agencies in charge of immigration enforcement — acting ICE Director Todd Lyons and Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, the DHS officials said.
Underscoring the turmoil, Scott recently expressed concern to colleagues that Lewandowski is able to monitor his emails, the two officials and another DHS official said, sparking concern among other top staffers that their messages were being reviewed.

I believe it was pushed for by Stephen Miller, one of Trump’s main handlers who’s responsible for a lot of the blatantly racist policies of this administration. He’s also the one who pushed for the child separation policy from Trump’s last term.
He’s also incredibly whiny and pathetic. There have been leaks saying that he’s been throwing screaming tantrums at random people in the White House over his arbitrary quotas not being met. And when he’s not angry, he has a reputation for cornering people and droning on about his racist beliefs until they’re able to escape.
Something tells me - going from videos we have of him at the time - that Stephen Miller was completely insufferable as a kid. I wonder if he had his lunch money stolen or was given a swirly and he’s been on the edgelord warpath ever since.

He’s a weird dude. Apparently he just decided to be racist out of the blue. A former childhood friend told the story of how Miller walked up to him in high school one day and said “I hate you now” because he wasn’t white.
Maybe some POC bullied him and that was formative. Who knows, could be he fell into online forums and so on. Some of the worst aspects of online culture certainly were in existence by that time…hell, you could find some truly awful shit in the USENET and BBS days…
